currently being held in Hobbs NM. The weather has been soft, top of lift at 10K

I took this flight made a copy of the track log, added two minutes to each of
the five second data points and created two flights with my copy following just
behind me. Then just before the goal I stopped for two minutes to wait for my
copy to catch up. We both then crossed the goal cylinder at the same time.GAP 2014:

I look at task four of the 2014 Big Spring Nationals. I pull out a
few pilots that started before the last start time so to highlight the value of
leading points (making the competition look like it has a race start, for the
most part).It's a 178 km task (least distance). You can find the original scoring here:... mehr

The unfair part of leading points is that they are applied even
when pilots are flying with different start times. Rarely to never does a pilot
take the twenty minute later start time because he knows the incredible
advantage it offers of seeing all your competitors who are in fact miles ahead... mehr
