Start when you want as there is no start clock, therefore your
elapsed time. No leading point, but arrival position points. I've never seen
those two used separately.  Trent, who starts after everyone who scored in
the top ten, gets to use over 50 pilots as thermal markers along a 140 km
course. Those pilots in the lead don't get any... mehr

The forecasts presented a puzzle. The winds weren't strong enough
to force a task to the north, but they where a little stronger than one would
like to have a long local task like around the Green Swamp. Add to that NAM and
RAP disagree on the winds, which is usually not the case. After going back and

I had an opportunity to fly the Wills Wing Sport 3 at the Wills
Wing Demo Days at Wallaby Ranch on Thursday. It was late in the afternoon almost
evening and the sky was still covered with thick high clouds that substantially
reduced lift all day. The winds were light out of the northeast.

For the third day in a row the forecast showed local over
development  and no fronts coming through. The southeast  surface
winds started out over 10 mph and 15 mph up above, but all the winds actually
mellowed out as forecasted. Convergence up highway 301 to the north meant a

The point is you'd have to quadruple your wing loading to double your
cruise/stall/sink speeds for a given angle of attack or trim point. In a flex
wing heavier pilots cause more washout of everything... mehr

Comes the threat of local cumulo-nimbus development. There was a
forecasted 30% chance of rain under a high pressure and no front coming through.
On Sunday the first convergence OD of the season didn't happen until after 6 PM
and it was a beautiful flying day, so Monday could prove to be the same.Lots of cu's and lots of pilots ready to fly.... mehr

The pilot is pulled to his right but his legs and body are off to
the left. He is holding onto the hoses on both cradles. The base tube is on the
cradle on the left but the wheel is partially below the cart tubes. The cradles
are on one of the three carts that have plastic cradles... mehr
