The later versions of SeeYou explicitly allow for entry circles and perhaps this check box was checked automatically. That caused a few problems at the start of the meet. Also you have to be sure to use decimal hours as the format in the DayTag to give the start time, interval lengths, and number of intervals.

The Oz Report was started to bring hang gliding news from around the world to the somewhat isolated world of hang glider pilots. I don't get all the news but I do cover a bunch of it. This issue I go back for a look at recent events in Australia.

The Australian National team (at least the first four) looks to be set after the Dalby Big Air. It appears to be Jonny Durand, Curt Warren, Steve Blenkinsop, and Scott Barrett (winner of the 2008 pre-Worlds). I don't know who the fifth member would be if a fifth slot becomes available.

I was quite involved with helping the scorekeepers figure out the problem with scoring at Dalby (wrong checked box), so I forgot that Jonny Durand was flying the Moyes Litesport that I flew when I was in Australia this season and he came in second. He won the day that no one made goal and came in third and second on two other days.
See, it's the...

This letter is in response to your repeated requests for USHPA support in helping get you a seat on the Soaring Council. After discussing this matter, the Executive Committee (EC) has determined that USHPA is well represented on the Soaring Council by Brad Hall. Further, we...

Here at the Oz Report we believe in science. And we get very unhappy when folks go off half cocked trying to do good by making up rules out of whole cloth without any scientific backing for their rules.
We start jumping up and down and calling people names. Names that they deserve.
If you want to have someone fighting for reason and rationality...

There was a great discussion of foot launch technique found here: http://ozreport.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14994. You'll love the photos, especially of Kari Castle.
Dustin mentioned to me, that on launch he squatted down and grabbed the downtubes down low to bring the glider up high and off his shoulders with the hang strap tight (on harnesses...

I wrote earlier about tails for flex wing gliders in relation to a tucking and tumbling incident at Manila on an Aeros glider. Aeros apparently has a number of gliders with tails at the DHV for testing. But the difference in sprog settings for the Combat L 13 07 with and without a tail is miniscule so it is unclear...

A thirty mile three hour flight.

On Thursday, March 5, 2009, I had the best flight of my life in terms of challenges and personal accomplishments. Plenty of things went wrong along the way and I struggled to salvage what I could from the flight and was handsomely rewarded in the end. I was able to capture the first hour...
