A big thank you to Mike Glennon who convinced me to come down to
Colombia to fly with a little help on the plane ticket by Icolpack. Mike put me
up at his house, put me in his truck with Raul Guerra and David Brito Filho,
supplied a driver, changed my US dollars to Colombian pesos at a favorable rate,
often translated for me, took me to... mehr

On Sunday we went flying at the El Pomo launch forty kilometers
northeast of Cali after driving south from Roldanillo. The launch is on the
eastern mountain range unlike the ones at Roldanillo, on the western mountains.
If you look it up in Google Maps or Earth you'll find it hard to see as the area
is covered with cumulus clouds.It was... mehr

I'm getting used to the idea that the launch will be socked in by the time we
arrive. This morning we are a little later than the day before, and arrive
around 9 AM. The cu's, of course, are forming on the hillsides which is why we

It was raining in Roldanillo at 6 AM on Thursday morning. Not a downpour, but a
soaking rain. The sky was completely gray as the cloud base was just above town.
The weather in the morning unfortunately set the tone for the day.
