Most of the British team is coming Quest Air to practice together from March 15 April 2nd. Also Filippo Oppici will come down on weekends too (we have his glider). Were hoping to set tasks every day and get some great long flights in!

After breaking up the ice in my driveway and salting the walkway, I decided that I had earned a well deserved break and it was now time to fly. I jumped into my Swift-Light for a quick aerotow. The weather looked promising with light winds and scattered cu's at 9000 ft., thermals predicted to be quite...

Again the NSW RASP was calling for overdevelopment, but I looked at the
projected temperature traces for Lake Keepit (also on the NSW RASP page) and it
sure looked like the air mass above 8,000' was projected to be too dry for
cu-nimb development....

Sometimes it take a long while before a story comes out and this is now I heard it.
When a US President flies around there is a temporary flight restriction of the airspace around him (why isn't this true of say the Australian prime minister or Governor General?). A few times when George Bush would go to Orlando, Quest Air would have to cease...

Turkey vulture advocates want us to know that the birds do not circle over dying things; the implication of the common cartoon image of vultures above the crawling man in the desert is slanderous, says Lynch. The birds circle as they ascend on thermalscolumns of warm rising air. If, as choreographers say,...

Aeros designers believed they could excel high glide and climb characteristics of Combat L 07 and they did it. It had taken two years of design efforts and test flights with different prototypes until the aim was achieved. And now Aeros is happy to launch the...

The forecast was again for overdevelopment. The winds were supposed to be four
to six knots starting northwest and shifting steadily throughout the day to
south. There would be plenty of cu's according to the NSW RASP, at 7,000' to
8,000' but the...

Jonny writes regarding Maxim's tumble on day three:
One thing that I did not know at the time was how he
separated from his glider. After looking at his broken glider tonight I notice
broken back wires, side wires and keel but the front wires were...

Katharina is doing well after surgery on Monday. She apparently can't keep off line (the world is plugged in now). She had visitors in the afternoon. The surgery was to pin and plate her pelvis back together.

Steve Pearson, Dustin Martin, and the Jeff's are always working on little things that may or may not make the T2C go just that much better. After flying the Moyes Litesport against the Moyes Litespeed I am a bit skeptical of the value of minor adjustments that don't also improve...

The
results, getting better every day.
The forecast again calls for overdevelopment perhaps just scattered
thunderstorms and cu-nimbs, it is never exactly clear just what the RASP and XCSkies mean when they forecast areas of no lift or a general area of
overdevelopment. A general area is likely to actually be a few specific areas,...

The very preliminary results, I\'m working on it.
There seems to be a bug in the very latest version of SeeYou when it comes to handling IGC files created from Garmin's. Either downloaded using GPSDump or directly with SeeYou. I'm checking on whether that is true or not. It is version 3.91. Very preliminary tests indicate that it has a problem....

The very preliminary results with multiple errors.
The "official" forecast (from Al Giles) was for moderate northeast winds, but the NSW RASP and XCSkies, available to your unofficial weather forecaster, called for south southeast winds, light. This was an issue because it determined which launch will be working, and I'm not interested in going...
