Steve Wendt at Blue Sky makes the new sails for Kitty Hawk Kites
Eaglets (seen
here) each year. This year he decided to make his own Eaglet out of 7075
aluminum (43 pounds) for use in his own training. This could be flown my smaller
pilots (easier to handle than the Condor 330) and able to be flown when the
winds were greater than zero mph.... mehr

ZAPATA, TEX. - Falcon Lake is famous for its monster bass and for
the maniacal obsession of the fishermen who come from all over Texas — and the
world — to stalk them. Now this remote reservoir that straddles the
international boundary is known for something else: pirates. In the past... mehr

(last day of the Memorial Day weekend) for 12:30 PM and sure
enough there were cu's... mehr

I made a set of cross bar fairings for my Fun 190 which "clamshelled"
onto the crossbar and it seemed to reduce my stall speed and give me a fraction
more glide but was never sure that I really had the angle of attack optimised.

At the briefing for task 2 (the only completed task so far), the
team leaders were called aside to discuss the fact that all but a dozen of the
competition wings flying here do not have a load test that is valid according to
